News from the Hawks' Nest

Family and Community Newsletter - September 2, 2024 Edition

Out of the Nest... (Representing the Pride of the Southside)

We are off to a good start for the 2024-25 school year. The majority of our Hawks' understands the importance of following the expectations of being respectful, responsible, and ready to learn. For those Hawks', we will recognize and celebrate them. Be on the lookout for our Soaring Hawks (students of the month) in the next newsletter.

We will be incentivizing students with field trips, attendance and behavior prizes, and much much more. One of our first incentive field trips will be held on Monday, September 9. 250 students (4-8th) will attend the Bradley Soccer game. This game is free of cost. However, if students would like to bring money for concessions, they are more than welcome. Permission slips will be sent home with the 250 Hawks' that earns this privilege no later than Friday, September 6.

Please share with your student the importance of education, and it starts with adhering to the expectations.

Participating/Attending PBIS field trips are based on attendance and behaviors.

****It is a privilege not a right.

Cell phones and all electronics including earbuds and headphones must be secured daily. If headphones are needed for instruction, they are provided by AJG.

A lost and/or damaged pouch must be replaced at a cost of $30. Parents will be contacted to make arrangements for payment when students state that their pouch is lost and/or damaged. This is still not a reason to have a cell phone in use during school.

Act and Adjust

Recognize that some of the things we believe may be limiting our ability to achieve our dreams.

• Shift our attention toward what we can begin doing today to overcome challenges.

• Understand how important it is to take action, learn from setbacks, and continue moving forward.
