Get in the ZONE 🎯🏁

We’re officially into the back half of Quarter 4, (5 WEEKS LEFT!) and this is the stretch where every day counts. This week we’re locking in on our 7 Mindsets theme Get in the Zone β€” not just for sports, but for school, life, and finishing what we started.

The kids that succeed in this final stretch aren’t the ones who do things when they feel like it β€” it’s the ones who choose to focus, choose to show up, and choose to finish strong. Every small action between now and the finish line matters.

πŸŽ‰ Thank You for Making Prom a Success!
A huge thank you to all our parents, staff, and volunteers who helped make Prom 2025 – A Night in Dubai a night our students will never forget. From making sure kids got there safely, to helping with tickets, decorations, and everything in between β€” it took all of us to pull it off.

Events like this remind our students what it feels like to be part of something bigger than themselves. We couldn’t have done it without you! πŸ¦πŸŽŸοΈπŸŽ‰

πŸŽ“ Senior Checkout

πŸ’ 7 Mindsets – The Time is Now: Get in the Zone
This week’s focus is about getting in the zone and staying locked in. Students aren’t just being asked to work harder β€” they’re being asked to work smarter. Focus on what they can control. Knock out distractions. Handle their business one thing at a time.

At home, help by asking:

  • β€œWhat’s one thing you’re going to get done today that moves you forward?”

  • β€œHow are you staying focused this week?”

Onward. Forward. 🐾

College and Career Ready

If your student will be absent from school, kindly contact at 309-672-6630 x40096 or via email at peoriahigh@psd150.org A friendly reminder: Unexcused absences may impact eligibility for school events and activities. Absences can be excused for the following reasons (as outlined in Board Policy):

  • illness

  • death in the immediate family

  • family emergency

  • visits to college campuses and job interviews (with 48 hours prior written notice) to a maximum of five days

  • situations beyond the student's control as determined by the Board of Education

  • other circumstances which cause reasonable concern to the parent of the safety or health of the student

The daily school hours are 7:00 am – 2:30 pm. The building opens daily for students at 7:00 a.m. Breakfast is available in the cafeteria until 7:30 a.m. Students are expected to be inside their classroom when the 7:30 a.m. bell rings. Students arriving after 7:30 a.m. must enter through the atrium doors (rear parking lot).

At the end of the day, students must leave the building if they are not with an adult sponsor/coach. Buses leave 10 minutes after school dismissal.

Students are allowed limited hall passes (restrooms & the school nurse). Please speak with your student about the importance of classroom instructional time and the safety of always having adult supervision.

All Peoria Public Schools have a closed campus which means students cannot leave the building throughout the school day for food or other errands.  No outside food/beverages (for example, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Polar Pops, etc.) are allowed in the building.  Students may bring a β€œcold” lunch to be eaten during their lunch period. We do have microwaves available for cold lunches.

Please note - All PPS high school boys and girls Spring sporting events are only open to eligible* students who attend the home school. Eligibility is based on monthly academics, attendance, and behavior. See the Student Handbook page 9.

When PPS high schools are playing each other (MHS, PHS, RHS), only eligible* students from the two competing schools may attend.

Adults are welcome to attend all PHS events. Primary/middle school students can attend with a parent/guardian and must remain with the adult(s) the entire game.

*Students will need to check with their school administrators for eligibility status.
