Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We kicked things off strong with an amazing turnout at Freshman Orientation and Smart Start! Thank you to all the families who showed up and showed out for your students. We know our building is currently under construction, and we apologize if you couldn’t hear everything clearly during the events. Your presence still made a powerful statement: YOU CARE, and that’s what it’s all about.
We officially kick off the school year bright and early at 7:00 AM on Wednesday July 30, 2025. This will be a full school day, and students will be dismissed at 2:30 PM.
At 1615 N. North St., we’re committed to building a culture where students learn to Show Up, Own Everything, and Hunt Excellence—not just in school, but in life. These aren’t just slogans, they are the daily standard. We believe that if students live by these three actions, they will not only succeed but create opportunities for themselves beyond their four years they are with us.
Our 2025–2026 Schoolwide Goals:
✅ Reduce Chronic Absenteeism
Every day matters. We can’t teach students who aren’t here.✅ Increase Freshman On-Track & Graduation Rate
We’re building stronger foundations and finishing strong.✅ Increase Student Proficiency on the ACT
We’re sharpening skills and expanding opportunity.
🦁 Meet Your Peoria High Admin Team
We’ve got a strong team leading the charge this year, and each grade level has a dedicated assistant principal to support your student every step of the way:
Dr. Ilethea Suggs – Assistant Principal for 9th Grade
Mr. Mick Swanson – Assistant Principal for 10th Grade
Mr. Trey Laird – Assistant Principal for 11th Grade
Dr. Nahreisha Tate – Assistant Principal for 12th Grade & Peoria Options Program (POP)
🔑 Arrival & Entry Procedures
Doors open at 7:00 AM
Buses will drop off at the foyer doors on North Street.
Car riders should be dropped off at the back Atrium entrance.
All students must pass through a security check each morning.
After 7:30 AM, the Atrium entrance is the only one open for student entry.
🗓️ Counselors & Student Schedules
If your student didn’t receive their schedule at Freshman Orientation or Smart Start, no worries—they can pick it up in the library on the first day of school from their assigned counselor.
If a student is missing a class on their schedule, they should also report to the library to get it corrected.
Here’s how our counselors are assigned by last name:
Mr. Patrick Klimaszewski → Students with last names A–E
Miss Tammy Collier → Students with last names F–K
Miss Paula Webb → Students with last names L–R
Ms. Casey Stone → Students with last names S–Z
🎒 Backpack Policy
Beginning October 15th, we are moving to a clear backpack policy for all students.
Students are encouraged to use their lockers to store backpacks, coats, and any other non-classroom items.
📵 Cell Phones & Yondr Pouches
Peoria High is a cell phone free school during the day. All students are expected to secure their phones in a Yondr pouch.
If your student returned their pouch last year, they’ll be reassigned the same one.
If not, or their pouch was broken, they’ll need to see our Treasurer Ms. GINA.DAILEY@PSD150.ORG to pay for the replacement. Then Ms. AMY.DENSON@PSD150.ORG will then issue them a new pouch.
No pouch = no phone. Their phone will be secured at arrival and returned at dismissal from the concession stand.
Freshmen will receive their Yondr pouch during 1st hour on the first day of school.
🩺 Freshman Physicals & Senior Immunizations
A quick reminder from Nurse Baker:
Freshmen must turn in a current physical.
Seniors must turn in updated immunization records.
These are due by October 15th. You can drop them off at school or email them to:

📘 Student Handbook
All our policies—from dress code to behavior expectations—are available in the Student Handbook. Please take time to review it with your student. We will also discuss expectations, eligibility and more at our class meetings.
