Dream Big 💭✨

Big dreams don’t just happen. They’re built one day at a time. Around here, we call that stacking days and it’s how goals turn into reality. It starts with Showing Up every single day, on time, and ready to go. You can’t chase a dream if you’re not in the room. It means Owning Everything including grades, behavior, and effort because when you take responsibility you keep your future in your hands. And it’s all about Hunting Excellence by giving your best in class, on the field, and in the community even when it’s hard. This week we’re challenging every student to Dream Big and then put in the work to make it happen.

🤝 Join Our PPTO
Parents, we would love for you to join our Peoria High PPTO. This is a great way to connect with other families, support our students, and help shape school events. Our next meeting is Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the Foyer. Please use the Foyer doors when you arrive. If you are interested in joining or would like more information, contact Ms. Trina Jordan.

🦁 CLASS OF 2026
Senior Sunrise Shirt money is due to Dr. Tate TOMORROW with no exceptions.

😷 Medical Mask
Students should not be wearing medical masks at school without a note from a parent or doctor. If your student has a note, they should see Nurse Maggie so she can notify all of their teachers.

🚫 Disruptions & Fights
Major disruptions, including fights, will be addressed seriously and can lead to significant consequences. We focus on resolving conflicts through restorative conversations and interventions first, but ongoing or severe issues may result in alternative learning settings. We have over 150 adults in the building ready to help students work through conflicts. If your student is having an issue with someone, they must seek out an adult immediately instead of trying to handle it themselves.

📞 ATTENDANCE MATTERS
If you are getting the automated phone call from Peoria High, that means your student has been marked absent in one or more classes that day. Please check Skyward daily to make sure your student is present in ALL of their classes, not just part of the day. Consistent attendance is the quickest way to keep students on track toward their goals.Every day counts.

  • Absent? Call us at 309-672-6630 extension: 40096 or Email: ANGELA.SIERRA@PSD150.ORG

  • 2+ absences? Our staff and support staff will reach out to make a plan.
We’re here to help students stay on track—not just academically, but socially and emotionally too.

🩺 Freshman Physicals & Senior Immunizations
A quick reminder from Nurse Baker:

  • Freshmen must turn in a current physical.

  • Seniors must turn in updated immunization records.

These are due by October 15th. You can drop them off at school or email them to:
📧 MARGARET.BAKER@PSD150.ORG

💬 Help Your Student Dream Big
Your encouragement can spark momentum. This week, ask your student:
“What’s one big thing you want to accomplish this school year, and what’s the first step you can take this week to get there?”
Have them write it down somewhere so they will see every day.

Big dreams become reality when we show up, own everything, and hunt excellence together.
1615.

  • After 7:30 AM, the Atrium entrance is the only one open for student entry.

🎒 Backpack, Backpack

Beginning October 15th, we are moving to a clear backpack policy for all students.

Students are encouraged to use their lockers to store backpacks, coats, and any other non-classroom items.

📵 Cell Phones & Yondr Pouches

Peoria High is a cell phone free school during the day. All students are expected to secure their phones in a Yondr pouch.

  • If your student returned their pouch last year, they were reassigned the same one.

  • If not, or their pouch was lost or broken, they’ll need to see our Treasurer Ms. GINA.DAILEY@PSD150.ORG to pay $30 for the replacement. Then Ms. AMY.DENSON@PSD150.ORG will then issue them a new pouch.

  • No pouch = no phone. Their phone will be secured at arrival and returned at dismissal from the concession stand or library.
