Speech and Debate Opportunity:

Registration is now open for the Peoria 150 district-wide Speech and Debate Summer Camp. We welcome all rising 4th through 8th-grade students to participate in this summer’s program. Please note that while year-round after-school funding is limited to 11 contracted campuses; however, this summer camp is available to all students across the district.

Kindly share the following details and the attached flyer with your families. There are 70 spots available, and pre-registration can be completed through the online form at https://bit.ly/SP20267. Attached are flyers. 

Camp Details

- Program: Speech and Debate Summer Camp

- Dates: Monday–Friday, June 1–18

- Time: 8:30 AM–12:30 PM

- Location: Multicultural Dual Language Academy, 2612 N. Bootz Ave., Peoria, IL 61604

- Eligibility: Current 3rd–8th grade students (Online and in-person options available)

- Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be provided

- Transportation: Not provided; parents or guardians are responsible for drop-off and pick-up

- Contract to finalize registration will be emailed and sent via text. 

Note for Dual-Enrollment Students:

Students may enroll in both the summer school program and the speech and debate camp. Please be advised that summer school activities will take priority from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

Rule 16 – You must complete your homework every day. 

Rule 17 – Subject transitions and moving to different classrooms will be swift, quiet, and orderly. 

Rule 23 – Know other teachers’ names and greet them in the hall by name. 

Rule 27 – Do not stare at a student who is being reprimanded.

            ATTENTION 8th Grade Parents-              You MUST approve your child's course planner for high school in School Links:

School Links is a tool that gives you access to the bigger picture of your students’ future. As a guardian, you will have the opportunity to join your student in their career and college exploration process and have conversations with them about their future. You will have access to School Links through your account. Please ensure you have an email address on file in Skyward. We look forward to getting started and helping you help your student!
