As we begin the month of February, we are proud to recognize and celebrate Black History Month. Throughout the month, our students will engage in learning experiences that honor the history, achievements, and contributions of Black leaders, innovators, and changemakers. We look forward to meaningful conversations and learning across our school community.
We would also like to send a big thank you to Ms. Small, our creative 5th graders, and even a few brave and unexpected 6th graders who survived the lava that invaded her classroom this week! The teamwork, imagination, and problem-solving on display during The Floor Is Lava activity brought learning and fun together in the best way.
Another highlight this week has been our always-exciting Duck Hunt. Thanks to the keen eyes and determination of our students, it has become nearly impossible for those ducks to stay hidden!
Attendance remains a major focus for us as we await the results of our strive for the Four-Peat 1st Place Most Improved Attendance recognition. While we are still waiting on the official results, we are proud to share that our January attendance was 91% or better every single day. That consistency matters!
As we wait for final confirmation, let’s already set our sights on an even bigger goal—the Five-Peat in February. ❤️ Amistad, 💙 Reveur, 🖤 Altruismo, and 💚 Isibindi—let’s keep showing our House pride by getting to school on time, every single day.
We have so much learning ahead as we prepare for state testing in March and continue working toward a strong end of the school year. Thank you for your continued partnership and encouragement.
We are always better together at the Viking Village!
