Our staff worked hard to prepare for our return to school, and our students showed up in force—ready to learn and lead! This week, our team reviewed building-wide expectations, and students did an excellent job jumping right back into routines. We are proud of how quickly everyone refocused and settled in.

Thanks to strong attendance all week, we met our 93% attendance goal, which meant Friday was a celebration! 🎉 We are excited to share that Von Steuben earned the Most Improved Attendance Award for December—and we didn’t stop there! We also received 3rd Place for Most Improved Chronic Absenteeism. What an accomplishment!

We celebrated these awards with free dress and hot chips & cheese, making Friday extra special for our Vikings. Now, we’re setting our sights on an even bigger goal—earning a Four-Peat for Most Improved Attendance in January! 👏

To celebrate, we are already planning an exciting 3-on-3 basketball tournament for our Houses ❤️ Amistad, 💙 Reveur, 🖤 Altruismo, and 💚 Isibindi. Let’s keep showing up, supporting one another, and getting better together every single day.

Congratulations to both our junior varsity and varsity teams for representing Von Steuben at Woodruff on Saturday! It was great to see so many of our families come out to support them!

We are enforcing no cell phones from 7:30 - 2:30 each day. Students have a Yondr pouch assigned to them. Each morning when students enter the building, they must either power down their phone or put it in airplane mode (to preserve the battery) and lock it in their pouch.

Clear backpacks are also required this year. We have two options for families. First, you can purchase a district clear backpack for $20 from the main office. Second, you can attend a school event to receive a clear Von Steuben backpack.
