January: Focused, Motivated, Viking Strong

Another Week of Winning at the Viking Village!

We are excited to share that our Vikings once again reached 93% attendance last week—way to go! 🎉 Thank you to our families for continuing to prioritize being at school every day. Your support truly makes a difference.

We were also fortunate to host our 2nd Quarter Awards Assembly on Friday afternoon. It was wonderful to celebrate our students’ hard work, growth, and achievements. A special thank you to the parents and families who joined us to cheer on our Vikings—it means so much to our students to have you there.

We are continuing to strive for our Four-Peat for Most Improved Attendance in January, and we are well on our way with very strong attendance during our first two weeks back from break! While we may face some chilly mornings ahead, we know our Viking families are up for the challenge. Bundle up, show up, and let’s keep the momentum going!

From ❤️ Amistad to 💙 Reveur, 🖤 Altruismo, and 💚 Isibindi, our Houses continue to show pride, perseverance, and excellence. Together, we can make January another winning month at the Viking Village!

Cell Phones & Bookbags

We are enforcing no cell phones from 7:30 - 2:30 each day. Students have a Yondr pouch assigned to them. Each morning when students enter the building, they must either power down their phone or put it in airplane mode (to preserve the battery) and lock it in their pouch.

Clear backpacks are also required this year. We have two options for families. First, you can purchase a district clear backpack for $20 from the main office. Second, you can attend a school event to receive a clear Von Steuben backpack.
