Together We Rise in March

We are so proud of how our Viking community finished February—two straight weeks of meeting our attendance goals, an exciting celebration of our Four-Peat Most Improved Attendance with our 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and great play and big wins from our volleyball teams. What an incredible way to close the month! For now, we wait to hear if we achieved our goal - the Five-Peat Most Improved!

Now it’s time to show all that we know as we begin our Illinois Assessment of Readiness state testing. The great thing about this test is that growth matters—so every single student’s score matters. We begin with Math on Tuesday and continue with English Language Arts through March 17.

Just like we have all year, let’s show up ready to shine—❤️ Amistad, 💙 Reveur, 🖤 Altruismo, and 💚 Isibindi. Being present, focused, and giving our very best shows our community—and our state—just how great our Vikings truly are!

Cognia Survey

The Cognia parent survey is critical for school improvement. This survey provides direct feedback on student wellness, academic learning, and safety. It helps identify strengths and weaknesses for us to improve the educational quality and ensures parent voices help shape the school's strategic planning and school environment.

Please complete PARENT SURVEY link today! Your voice matters to us. Click the link below...

School Uniform Policy

Cell Phones & Bookbags

We are enforcing no cell phones from 7:30 - 2:30 each day. Students have a Yondr pouch assigned to them. Each morning when students enter the building, they must either power down their phone or put it in airplane mode (to preserve the battery) and lock it in their pouch.

Clear backpacks are also required this year. We have two options for families. First, you can purchase a district clear backpack for $20 from the main office. Second, you can attend a school event to receive a clear Von Steuben backpack.
