As we wrap up September, we celebrate the truth that strong starts make strong years! Our Vikings have already accomplished so much in these first weeks of school.
House activities have been filled with energy and pride as students learned their chants and cheers and played in a dodgeball competition. It has been wonderful to see our students learning, laughing, and building community together.
Our school attendance continues to be a bright spot—we’ve maintained an average of 93% attendance, with several days reaching as high as 96%. That is amazing! At the same time, our chronic absenteeism is hovering around 24%. Together, we can bring that number down. Every Viking matters, and when everyone is present, we can plan even more house activities on Fridays.
Last week, we wrapped up our first quarter of the year. We are excited to start the second quarter strong so that we can head into fall break on Friday with confidence and no worries.
Looking ahead, we are eager to welcome families to Parent-Teacher Conferences this week on Tuesday and Thursday from 4–7 p.m. Students have prepared to share their progress in both academics and attendance with their families. This is also another chance for houses to earn points! The house with the highest parent or guardian attendance at conferences will earn 20 house points. With only 80 points separating the first- and second-place houses, every point counts!
Thank you for partnering with us in making September a strong start for the year. We can’t wait to see what October brings for our Vikings!
